Meet Board Member Donald Chavers, Jr.!
Donald Chavers, Jr., is a Bulloch County native.
He accepted his call into ministry in 1998. After walking in his calling as Minister Chavers, he was later ordained an elder. In April of 2005, Elder Chavers, as he was known, became Pastor Chavers of Agape Worship Center. Be it Pastor, Minister, Elder or just plain old Donald he loves everyone the same.
Donald's ministry extends far beyond Statesboro. He preaches and sings the gospel abroad, with his ministry touching as far as England - which he notes as one of his favorite places to minister. His humor through ministry has become a magnet that brings people together and closer to God regardless of demographics, such as age, gender, and race. Pastor Chavers' anointing allows him to present the Word of God in a way that impacts even the most inner parts of a person. He is committed to the deliverance and healing of all who encounters his ministry.
Donald yields to the will of God and uses his beloved voice to bring peace during the storm, hope during times of despair, and comfort during times of mourning. He wholeheartedly believes in the power of the love of God and is assured that it must be shared to all, regardless of their chosen path in life. It is his earnest desire that all receive Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
Donald is an advocate for community and the power that rests within it. Though he does not have any natural children, his heart runs over with love for his nieces and nephews. He finds joy in farming, and through his passion of it, he has raised pork for restaurants in Georgia including the chain restaurant, B`s Cracklin BBQ. In support of Safe Haven in Statesboro, Donald became a 2019 participant in ‘Dancing with the Statesboro Stars’. He has served on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity of Bulloch County and as a commission member for the Creek on the Blue Mile. His love for community flows out of his abundant passion for reaching all through love.
Donald is currently the Master Gardner for the Community Garden in Statesboro. Donald has recently founded Love and Peace Living, Inc. this organization is designed to help provide affordable housing for the elderly and domestic violence victims.
Whether it is in a pulpit or park, Donald is determined to seize every moment, while living on purpose.
